One year ago I wrote...
Deep dream time. Imagining the limitless possibilities for my life - herbalism, art, yoga, dance, bodywork, therapy, homesteading, community. These visions are infinite.
How do I picture my highest Self? I see a master healer, a priestess, using herbs, yoga, bodywork, energy medicine, and ritual to inspire people towards deepening their connection with the Source. I see myself living close to nature, forming relationships with the local plants. I see myself helping people to free themselves form pain, addiction, emotional suffering.
I see myself as a goddess, with flowers in her hair, surrounded by light, living in oneness with the forest, eager to share this light with others.
Stop thinking! Be in the dreamtime! Allow these visions to arise. It doesn't matter, the practicality, just dream.
These dreams have manifested in ways I could have never projected. I did not set a single "goal" last year, but instead I followed my dreams.
When I make decisions, I picture my higher Self, my wisdom self. Her name is Stardancer. She lives in a cottage in the woods, surrounded by color and beauty, yet living simply. She is a much older version of myself - beautiful gray hair flowing down her back, adorned with moonstones (a symbol of dreamtime, intuition, and inspiration).
I've known Stardancer for merely a year, but she provides me with guidance that no other human bing is capable of.
Trust the universe, she says, and trust yourself, a lesson I continue to take in. She has spent the past 20 years learning from my mistakes, healing herself and healing the world. When I am eager to know what direction to take in my life she says, be patient.
You too, can be in the dreamtime. During this time of greater darkness, bring your awareness within. Let go of planning, thinking, doing, and goal-setting.
How do you envision your highest Self, your wisdom Self? What do they look like? Where do they live? How do they live? What is their name? What gifts do they have to share with you?
Take time this winter to dream deeply by following these simple steps.
1) Make time and space to be alone.
2) Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and smile.
3) Picture your highest Self, your inner mentor.
4) What do they look like? Where do they live? How do they live?
5) Ask a question.
6) Receive your answers.
7) Envision the limitless possibilities for your life.
There is no right or wrong way to dream. Trust your intuition and just be.
